How/can I Disable the Tire Pressure Monitor System?

Deactivating the Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) system, if you replace runflats with non-runflats and remove the Tire Pressure Sensors (TPS) from the wheels:

  • 1. When the TPS's are removed, the dash will display a warning light... and you will not be able to get into Competitive mode, or fully disable Stabillitrack.

  • The tire pressure display will flash all "zeros"

  • 2. Move all 4 TPS's physically away from the car... 200-300 feet should be enough.

  • 3. Drive around for 50-60 miles (approx 1 hour). And the TPM will AUTO deactivate itself. You dont have to do anything special... just drive around. The warning light will go off. The pressure display will show "---".

  • And now you CAN get into competitive mode... it's as if the car doesn't have a TPM system!

  • 4. Move a sensor close to the car... and the system reactivates itself... the warning light will go on, you can't get into competitve mode, etc.

Repeat step 2 & 3 above. I moved 3 sensors close to the car:

    Alternative
The TPM can be ALSO disabled by disabling keyless entry also, if you're interested.
  • Pull the ARS fuse in one of the rear fuse centers (But then, you'll also disable the fobs and keyless entry)

    Thanks dreamin
